Taking Screenshots and Screen Recordings on all your devices

How to take a screenshot to report an issue or give feedback

When dealing with technical issues, the best way to explain it is by taking and sharing a screenshot of your computer to get a better understanding of what you’re experiencing. 

You can generally do this with your computer’s built-in features. Below are the steps you can take depending on the device.

 

Mac-Computer

Press ⌘ + Shift + 4. This will display crosshairs. Click and drag to capture the desired area. The screenshot will save to your desktop.

Press ⌘ + Shift + 5. This will enable you to either take a photo or also record a video of your actions.

As a note, it is most helpful to take a screenshot of the entire screen if possible.

 

iPhone

Press the home button and lock button simultaneously. The lock button is likely on the right side or top of your iPhone. Once the screen has flashed, the screenshot will save to your Photos or Camera Roll.

To record your screen you first have to enable the option from your phone settings. 

Go to Settings > Control Centre > Customise Controls > screen recording (tap on the plus sign to add to the top list. 

Once enabled you can access these controls from your home or locked screen by sliding your finger on the screen from the bottom up.  

Click record and the recording will start after three seconds, once you finish, tap the top red bar and click “Stop Recording”

 

iPad

Press the home button and lock button simultaneously just like on your iPhone.

To record your screen you first have to enable the option from your phone settings. 

Go to Settings > Control Centre > Customise Controls > screen recording (tap on the plus sign to add to the top list. 

Once enabled you can access these controls from your home or locked screen by sliding your finger down from the upper right hand corner where your battery shows..  

Click record and the recording will start after three seconds, once you finish, tap the top red bar and click “Stop Recording”
